  • B & M Joinery Cromwell is currently a team of 13 (14 if you count our dog Oakley!) with a combined experience of more than 70 years in the industry.

    We're excited to offer an excellent chance for a Sales & Design Consultant to become part of our team in Cromwell, Central Otago. This is a part-time maternity cover position, working 24 hours per week, that will likely commence in November.

    Candidates should possess at least 2 years' previous experience in a similar sales and/or design role in the kitchen or joinery industry. A relevant qualification in interior design, joinery, kitchen design, or a related field is preferred. Additional training will be provided as needed.

    Main tasks include:
    • Consult with clients and sell tailored joinery solutions
    • Design custom kitchens/joinery using CAD/SketchUp
    • Prepare accurate quotes, plans, and proposals
    • Conduct site visits and coordinate with production/installation teams
    • Manage client relationships and ensure project success
    • Stay up to date with design trends and industry standards
    Other key skills and attributes include:
    • Strong knowledge of kitchen & household joinery design
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
    • Familiarity with joinery materials, hardware & standards
    • Strong time management, able to juggle multiple projects
    • Proficiency in MS Office & design software
    • Clear communication, both written & verbal
    • Confident in sales, negotiation & closing deals
    • Professional, customer-focused, and team-oriented
    • Positive, adaptable, and proactive work ethic
    • A full, clean driver's licence
