The Smits Group, based in Auckland, is a leading supplier to the automotive refinish and aftermarket industries. Through our wholesale division, GPI Automotive (NZ) Ltd, we proudly represent world-class brands such as Meguiar's, Rislone, Little Trees, Peak, Roberlo, Lyndar, Sagola, Scangrip, Little Joe, Fresh to name a few.
We are currently seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to manage and grow our brand presence across the South Island of New Zealand.
About the Role
As our South Island Sales Representative, you will:- Manage and grow an established portfolio of clients across both trade and retail distribution channels.
- Proactively develop new business opportunities to expand our market presence.
- Provide exceptional product knowledge, training, and support to help our customers succeed.
- Work independently on the road while staying closely connected with our national sales team.
- Represent premium global brands with professionalism and passion.
- Travel regularly throughout the South Island (some overnight stays will be required).
About You
We are looking for someone who:- Has a proven track record in sales, account management, or wholesale distribution.
- Is confident building strong, long-term relationships with trade, retail, and business clients.
- Has excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and close deals.
- Thrives on exceeding targets and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
- Is well-organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently on the road.
- Brings an automotive industry background.
