Kiwi Skips has an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing, fun and busy team in Invercargill.
Being a skilled truck driver is just one part of the job… This role will require the ability to adapt to different types of waste collection vehicles as well as fast, physical work outside of the trucks such as securing skips, repetitively loading wheelie bins onto a rear loading compactor, as well as mucking in with our general yard work and maintenance. Rain or shine, we're out in the elements, so an appreciation for working outdoors is essential for this role.
We service thousands of residential and commercial properties throughout Southland, and our drivers are the face of Kiwi Skips when on-site. Interacting with customers and answering questions is all part of the fun, so the successful applicant must be well-presented and have excellent communication skills, with initiative too. We are also at times working to beat the clock, so you'll need to work well under pressure and have excellent time management skills. We operate seven days, and weekend work is required.
Essentials!:- Valid Class 2 Driver's License. Class 4 driver opportunities also available.
- Physically fit and willing to work hard

- Reliable team player and a self-starter
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
- Ability to learn and use company technology and systems - namely an iPad
- Applicants must be able to pass a drug test and have no criminal convictions.
- NZ residency or a valid work permit.
Advantageous!:- Previous waste or recycling experience
- Previous waste collection truck experience (solid waste & liquid waste)
- Good knowledge of Invercargill/Southland
