Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Concrete Placer/Finisher to join our team.
This role involves placing, levelling, and finishing concrete across a variety of projects. It's a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality.
More importantly, we're looking for someone dependable, who will consistently turn up for work, is keen to learn a trade, and sees a long-term future with us, potentially moving into a supervisor/ Foreman role or more.
Key Responsibilities:- Placement, spreading, and levelling of concrete.
- Operate hand and power tools such as trowels, vibrators, and screeds.
- Ensure concrete surfaces are smooth, even, and properly finished.
- Mould expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
- Work closely with supervisors, site managers, and other crew members.
- Follow all health and safety regulations on-site.
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and material handling.
- Identify and report any issues related to concrete quality or site conditions.
Key Skills & Requirements:- 3+ years' experience in concrete placing, finishing, or general construction.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual labour in all weather conditions.
- Knowledge of different concrete finishes (e.g., broom, smooth).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to turning up every day ready to work.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the trade, with potential to step up into a supervisory role.
- Full Class 1 driver's licence (minimum requirement).
- NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.
