We require a peer support worker to work as part of the Hapori Ora team working with alcohol and other drugs.
Hapori Ora is part of Odyssey House, an organisation who has been supporting Cantabrian's with alcohol and other drug issues for over 35 years. Hapori Ora is focused on supporting consumers to obtain access to services that they require.
Hapori Ora is an intensive community-based programme, which runs day and evening groups. Using clinical and non-clinical approaches, this programme offers a holistic approach around alcohol and drug use. Family and Peer Support is also available as part of this programme.
In this role you will be:
Providing peer perspective to Hapori Ora programme
Involved in the entry point to the mental health and addiction sector, working alongside clients on their recovery journey.
Initial assessment providing introduction about Hapori Ora programme.
Co facilitating groups along with clinical staff.
We are looking for a person with:
Lived experience with alcohol and/or other drugs (minimum 2 years clean and sober)
Evidence of working stability to manage a busy workload
Strong communication skills
Administration and computer skills
A Level 4 qualification in health or addiction, or willing to work towards this.
Ability to work 20 hours per week, with the ability to work one evening a week and occasional Saturday online group.
