  • At Civic Waste we're a long standing supplier of services to NZ cities. We contract to Councils and Private Companies for waste removal, road/hard surface sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more!

    We are looking for a Branch Manager with a Sales Focus to join our team based in Hamilton.

    Reporting to the Regional Manager you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activity within the branch to ensure customer delivery is met to a high standard, whilst optimising resources to ensure cost effectiveness. Key to this role is identifying and developing sales leads and opportunities within the Hamilton/Waikato Area, in conjunction with the Business Development Manager (and GM).

    You will be leading and managing a team of direct reports (currently 4 with approximately 28 field staff), managing resources, achieving contract outcomes, ensuring compliance, and monitoring operational effectiveness.

    Our successful applicant will have the following experience, skills, and attributes:
    • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar industrial role (waste, construction, civil or logistics)
    • Excellent verbal written communication skills and personal presentation
    • Knowledgeable in business policies, practices, trends and information affecting business and industry
    • Dedicated to meeting the expectations of customers and developing effective relationships gaining trust and respect
    • Solutions focused, makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement
    • Brings out the best in people to achieve results.
    • Consistently meets company targets and KPI's, shows direction and shares knowledge to team and wider management team
    • Demonstrates effective management of operation by meeting/exceeding financial targets and effectively uses resources & equipment
    • Previous experience managing and handling council contracts will be highly regarded
