Odyssey House Christchurch is seeking an energetic and compassionate Outdoor Therapist to join our team in delivering services to tangata whai ora
Our programme integrates adventure therapy and group work to support tangata whai ora affected by alcohol and drugs, mental health and related issues.
In this role, you will:- Facilitate therapeutic outdoor experiences including tramping, camping, and group activites.
- Lead adventure-based therapy programmes promoting connection and coping skills
- Work within strength-based and collaborative relationships with tangata whai ora, their whanau and colleagues
- Manage the administration that comes with outdoor experiences
To be successful, you will have:- Proven experience delivering therapeutic group sessions in natural or outdoor environments
- Relevant qualifications in Social Work or Youth Work, Occupational Therapy, Outdoor Recreation or equivalent.
- Experience working in the AOD, mental health and criminal justice sectors.
- Ability to work in a manner that honours Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
- An understanding and experience of working with trauma.
- Ability to work weekends and overnight when required
- Clean and full driver's license
