    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced communications professional to lead Harcourts New Zealand's internal and external messaging, manage media relations, and elevate our brand through compelling content and strategic storytelling.

    About the role:

    We are on the lookout for a passionate and strategic communications leader to join the Harcourts New Zealand team as our National Communications Manager, based in Auckland.

    This full-time position plays a pivotal role in shaping the voice of Harcourts nationally.

    Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role will see you create and lead compelling communications across a variety of platforms. From crafting internal updates and producing media releases to building and managing relationships with journalists and influencers, your work will ensure Harcourts continues to stand out in the real estate industry.

    You will also:
    • Create and edit internal communications and video scripts for our Managing Director.
    • Source and publish content for blogs, newsletters, and corporate publications.
    • Manage media relations and act as our key liaison with journalists and outlets.
    • Lead and evolve the social media strategy in collaboration with the National Marketing Manager.
    • Increase our market presence through storytelling, public relations, and online engagement.
    • Deliver ad hoc communications projects including speech writing, award submissions, and campaign support.
    About you:
    • Proven experience in a communications or public relations role.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
    • The ability to develop and deliver strategic communications plans.
    • Strong relationships in the media space or the drive to build them.
    • A collaborative approach and the ability to work with multiple senior stakeholders.
    • Comfort juggling deadlines, content priorities, and messaging across multiple platforms.
    • A professional and warm demeanour that aligns with Harcourts' people-first culture.
    • Experience using email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
