Dominator Doors is a trusted leader in the supply and installation of both residential and commercial roller and sectional garage doors, as well as powered gate openers. Due to a recent increase in workload, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Garage Door Installer / Technician to join our skilled and friendly team.
This is a hands-on role involving the installation of new garage doors and motors, as well as servicing and repairs on a variety of door and gate systems. We're ideally looking for someone with a background in construction or a similar trade, who can quickly pick up the specifics of this work and potentially step into a team-leading role when the Manager is away.
You'll need to have a mature, practical approach to your work and take pride in being reliable, punctual, and proactive. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for stability, variety in their workday, and long-term career prospects.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:- Experience in construction, mechanical, engineering or related trades
- A good level of physical fitness for lifting, heights, and ladder work
- Competency with hand and power tools
- Quick to learn on the job (full training provided)
- Honest, dependable, and mature in your approach to work
- Full NZ drivers license
- Forklift licence highly regarded (but not essential)
- Ability to work unsupervised and lead a team when required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
This is a full-time position based in Blenheim. While most of the work is local, there may be some travel required, including occasional overnight stays.
The role may also involve overtime or working on Saturdays to meet client demands, so flexibility with hours is appreciated.
A competitive hourly rate will be offered, based on your skills and experience.
