An opportunity has become available for a Senior Fencer to join our team in Christchurch.
The core responsibilities of the role include:- Providing expert advice to customers on fencing options and installation.
- Creating cost estimates and quotes for customers.
- Construction of new fences primarily from in-house custom manufactured steel and aluminium, with some timber and chainlink mesh as required.
- Repairing and maintenance of existing gates and fences
- Coordinating with other tradespeople as required.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timelines
- Adhering to all relevant health, safety and wellbeing regulations
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have proven experience with gate and fencing installation, and will ideally have experience in a senior / leadership position.
To fit in with our team and hit the ground running, you'll also need:- A solid work ethic and a hands-on attitude - this isn't just a supervisor role; you'll be out on-site getting stuck in.
- The ability to work well with others - we're big on teamwork.
- Great communication skills - both written and verbal
- At least 2 years of experience in fencing or something similar.
- A keen eye for detail and pride in doing a quality job.
- Honesty, reliability, and good time management - we count on each other to turn up and get things done.
- A good level of physical fitness - you'll need to lift heavy gear and work outdoors in all conditions.
- A full driver's licence (manual is a bonus).
- A clean criminal record - we work on sites that require police checks.
- A professional attitude and tidy appearance - you're representing the team on and off site.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to doing things the right way.
- Good customer service skills - you'll be dealing with clients from time to time.
- Willingness to travel out of town now and then when the job requires it.
In return, we can offer:- Attractive hourly rates between $28 and $35 per hour depending on skills and experience
