As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Mill (Pellet Press) Operator / Storeman to join our dedicated team based in Invercargill.
About the Role
This is a practical, full-time position that covers a range of responsibilities including feed manufacturing, grain handling, seed processing, and general site maintenance.
The role involves working Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 12:00pm / 12:30pm - 5:00pm. Some Saturday morning maintenance and extended hours may be required depending on workload and seasonal demand.
Key Responsibilities:- Grain Handling
- Inspect and test incoming stock for quality control
- Record and manage grain movement (inwards and outwards) - Stockfeed Manufacturing
- All aspects of production through pelletising, rolling, screening, and blending - Seed Cleaning / Processing
- Store dressing and treating of seed
- Occasionally assist with on-farm processing across Southland & Otago - Maintenance
- Support routine maintenance on systems, vehicles, and machinery
- Maintain accurate maintenance records - Grainstore Coordination
- Work with seasonal/temp staff (July-November)
- Maintain store cleanliness and security
- Pest control, stock checks, mixer operation, and bulk loading - Dispatch / Office
- Load/unload deliveries
- Assist with customer pickups and door sales as needed
About You
We're looking for someone reliable, practical, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt in a busy, hands-on environment.
You'll bring:- Practical skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong time management and organisational ability
- Integrity, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Flexibility around hours, especially during spring peak season
- Forklift experience and current licence (required)
- Full driver's licence, a HT Class 2 licence is advantageous
- Physical fitness (role includes lifting up to 40kg bags)
- Ability to work in a sometimes dusty/noisy environment
- Engineering experience would be an advantage
