Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically sound finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for Roofbuddy's financial operations, reporting, and systems, while also supporting strategic initiatives as we scale. You'll work closely with our founder and leadership team, providing timely insights and ensuring financial discipline across our rapidly growing business. As we embark on our next phase of growth, we are looking for a talented individual to contribute their expertise to our dynamic team and help shape our future success.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead all aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset management
- Manage the company's payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing
- Develop, maintain and communicate a consolidated financial model for Roofbuddy's operations across our marketplace, and complimentary service business lines
- Research and provide assistance with setting up operations in new jurisdictions as required
- Assist with our new ERP system implementation to support our growing operational needs
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for the Board and leadership team
- Manage the annual audit process directly with our external auditor
- Oversee the ESOP program, including tracking and revaluation of options
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Overseeing credit control and accounts payable functions
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects to drive business growth and operational improvements
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:- CA/CPA qualification with strong technical accounting knowledge
- 4+ years of accounting experience including proficiency in IFRS
- Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting
- Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proactive mindset with excellent communication skills
